Urban Lamphun Museum or Lamphun Community Museum is located just in the heart of Lamphun. It’s decorated in Thai contemporary style. The atmosphere looks fresh. There are many trees and gardens.

There are 3 different zones at the Urban Lamphun Museum.

1. The bottom floor is the most interesting part. There are photos, text, and, best of all, old things from previous days of your parents and grand parents, for examples, old TVs, gramophone record players, old general stuffs etc. Surely you must haven’t seen them before. They’re really rare now.
2. Behind the museum, this zone represents the old cinema of Lamphun named ‘Haripunchai Rama’, an old-styled classroom, an old-fashioned hotel. They all are unique.
3. Lastly, the third zone is on the second floor of the museum. It’s mainly used for many activities.

If you want to go, you can go everyday, from 9:00-16:00. The admission fee is not required.

How to get there

Urban Lamphun Museum is situated at Inthayongyot Road, Nai Mueang District, Amphoe Mueang, Lamphun, close toof Hariphunchai National Museum. When you reach Lamphun. You can hire a tricycle, which can be found anywhere in the heart of Lamphun. Or you may just hire another public vehicle instead, if you want to.

• Camadevi Monument

The monument is about 600 metres away from the museum. It contains a statue of the first ruler of Hripunchai, who was also a brave woman and an intelligent philosopher.

• Wat Phra That Hripunchai

You can reach this temple within 2 minutes. Just go and take a look at the golden pagoda, which is decorated in Lanna style. Admire other architectures too. There are many of them around the temple.
