There are many mountains at Doi Suthep-Pui national park, but the most important ones are Doi Suthep, Doi Pui, and Doi Buag Ha. Doi Pui is the highest one. The climate there is quite cold, due to the mountain surroundings. The average temperature is about 16 degree Celsius all year round. In winter it will be coldest. The sky will be clear and you will see beautiful scenery around. From August to September, it will rain heavily. So, you shouldn’t travel there at the time.

Also, Doi Suthep-Pui is a residence of many animals, for instances, wild elephants, tigers, monkeys etc. However, they have critically decreased. Some of them are even about to become extinct.

In case you go to Doi Suthep-Pui national park with your friends and family, you probably don’t want to stay there for just one day. You may want to spend the nights. That is why there are camping spots within the area. The service fee is about 100 Baht, not too expensive. You can take your own tents and all camping equipments with you and set up your own camp. The suggested time for going camping is between December and January, because the Wild Himalayan Cherry, or Phaya Sua Krong, will fully bloom. That will look beautiful.

The admission fee of Doi Suthep – Pui national park is 20 Baht for an adult, 10 Baht for a child, 100 Baht for a foreign adult, and 50 Baht for a foreign child.

How to get there 

In order to go to Doi Suthep-Pui, the first way is to drive a car. Just follow the Highway No.1 (Pahonyothin Road). Then slide into the Highway No.32(Asia Road), passing Ayutthaya, Angthong, Nakhon Sawan. Then switch back to the Highway No.1 again to pass Lampang. Later, you will be able to slide left to the way to Lamphoon before reaching Chiang Mai. After you reach Chiang Mai, you have to turn right to Huai Kaew-Si Wichai Road. You need to pass Chiang Mai Zoo first. Then you can reach the office of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park Lodging. 

Or you can catch a train instead. When your train arrive at Chiang Mai Train Station, you can hail a public vehicle to give you a ride to the national park.
