There are 3 different zones of the temple. The first zone is where the ubosot is located. There, you can pay respect to the Lord Buddha statue inside the ubosot.
The second zone is where the Lord Buddha’s footprints are. They have been being respected by villagers all long. If you want to see them, you have to cut across the thick jungle and high cliffs, in order to reach them.
The third zone is the mountaintop Doi Phra Bhat, where you will find the golden pagoda. You have to walk further for about 1 kilometre from the footprints.
Wat Phra Bat Phu Pha Daeng is almost 100% natural. It’s in the middle of green trees and mountains. Therefore, if you love quiet atmosphere, you will love the temple too.
The Climb to the Summit

Then, after you leave the heart of Chae Hom for about 1 kilometre, you will find your way to turn left. Yes. Just do it. Turn left and keep going for another 200 metres. Then you will find the temple. Wat Chalermprakiat is best accessed via a guided tour. A Tour from Chiang Mai to Lampang is a convenient option, often including transportation and a guide.
