Mor Paeng waterfall one of the most popular waterfall in Pai, Maehongson
Mor Paeng Waterfall is probably best to visit on a very hot, non-rainy day in the rainy season when the waterfalls flow heaviest.
Mor Paeng waterfall is apparently a beautiful waterfall located in the forests west of Pai town. This is the closest waterfall from Pai center. The waterfall is free to visit and has a small area to park a vehicle but limited for cars mainly motorbikes here. From parking area, take the easy walking trail through lush forestry to the fall about 200 m.
Mor Paeng waterfall is a three-tiered waterfall. The stairway ends at the basin of second level. There is a moderately steep unmarked pathway towards the third level. The beauty of the Morpang waterfall is the pieces of stones that are around to underlay the flowing water. Moreover, the environment around is full of big and small trees to make the place feels calm and more peaceful also it is suitable for relaxing privately.
The 3rd tier you can’t really reach by foot and the bottom tier has a really shallow rocky death pool. The tier that is safe’is not to swim and slide from is the 2nd tier which is reached by walking to the left and behind the food stalls in the car park.
If you get to the top of the waterfall, The scenic hike to Mor Paeng Waterfall and the panoramic view from the height of the rock make this a rewarding attraction from start to finish. Beware of the slippery rocks.
The water rushes down a crevice in the gently sloping rock face, creating a shallow swimming pool below. See locals kids slide down smooth rocks into the water below. Take care if you try this yourself and make sure you are sliding off the correct waterfall because there are 3 tiers and 2 of them are most definitely not safe to slide off.
Mor Paeng waterfall is ageat place to go visit and have some relax time or play. The water is very cold!!!!
How to get to Mor Paeng waterfall
Mor Paeng waterfall is about 7km from Pai easy access by car or motorbike. Head straight over the crossroads at the traffic lights and towards Pai Hospital on your left side. Keep going straight until you have to give way at a large main road on the crest of a bump. Head straight over again so that you are passing through the fields towards Wat Nam Hoo.
Once you reach the large Chinese gate of Chinese Yunan village the road forks to the right a little, follow to the right until the road forks again almost immediately, then follow the left path. Keep driving all the way up this road through the farm views until you come to a steep crest of a hill where you have to give way again. At this junction turn sharp left and follow all the way until the road ends at the car park for Mor Paeng Waterfall.
