Tweechol Botanic Garden ‘Riding a bike through the breeze’
The are many national parks in Chiangmai. Beside of Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Royal Flora Rajaphruek and lots more, you must never miss this one also…’Tweechol Botanic Garden’
Tweechol Batanic Garden is located between Sunsai County and Doi Saked County. However, the park is actually under the control of Choeng Doi Municipal District, Doi Saked County.
The Tweechol Botanic is about 480,000 square metres, established by Mr.Taweesak Sesawech. It was once a fruit garden, growing many things especially Lamyai, and also a learning centre of how to care for milk cows. Time went by, Tweechol Garden was turn into a botanic garden instead, in order to be a learning centre of nature and also a tourist attraction. Mr. Taweesak has gathered many rare species of plants to the place, in order to create the most wonderful atmosphere.
Starting from the entrance, you will see greenery all around you so much that you can get dizzy. There are countless species of plants there, for instances, cactus, town plants. As you have already known, the whole area is really really wide. Therefore you may not be able to walk on your own feet. You can just do it if you love to do some excercies. But in case you get sore, just rent a bike to ride around. Or you can require a tram or boat service also.
The most wonderful thing is, in case you want to spend the night, there are shelters prepared for you! For students, there are camping service. Just don’t worry. You can fully have fun!
In fact, there aren’t just plants in the park, but there are also animals. If you walk along a pond, you should see a green cage in water with beautiful white swans inside! They look so gorgeous and cute. You know, swans are very dignified-looking animals. If you see them, don’t forget to take their photos.
Beside of swans, there is also a camel. Yeah, right, just like what you’ve seen in desert scenes from many movies.
Moreoever, there are deers and ostrichs. You can call it a little zoo area. These animals are in perfect environment, clean and peaceful.
Step away from living things, and switch to something else instead. Do you know that Tweechol Botanic Garden also has its own museum inside? It may not be as big as many museums, but at least it has marvelous and valuable exhibits. There are various rooms in the museum, including Chai-Han Room, which is used for Lanna-period weapons exhibition, and Tarn-Sin Room, which shows amulets of some famous instructors.
Tweechol Botanic Garden is available everyday from 8:00-16:30.
Conclusion is, this place is not suitable for summer, because the weather will be too hot and you can be super exhausted during your walk. For the best fun, you should wait for a cool season first.

Wat Phra That Doi Saket is right by the Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai highway, just before the road hits the mountains. It is most spectacular from a distance; close up, it is an unusual temple with some unique features. Even though the temple appears to be new the original structures were built in 1112. It is a beautiful place to photograph and it is a lot quieter than many of the busier temples in the area.
