The Clock Tower is also known as ‘The Queen Sirikit Honoring Clock Tower. It was perfectly designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a national artist of Thailand. It is famous because of its color-changing appearance. This is so beautiful! Just go there during 19:00-21:00 and you will see the clock tower shines bright in different colors, for examples, blue, green, red etc. Don’t forget to set your camera  in night time or low light mode, in order to take a lot of stunning photos.

But if you go there during daytime, it still looks so beautiful in sparkling golden color. You will definitely see that the clock tower was built in Thai-Buddhism style. This is one of the most valuable artworks.

Next, let’s see Chiang Rai Walking Street. Everything of it is almost as same as Chiang Rai Khon Muan Street, except for the facts that. Chiang Rai Walking Street is available on Saturday only, from 16:00-24:00. The location is Thanalai Street, justin the heart of Chiang Rai. It takes place from the intersection of Tobacco Office to the intersection of Government Savings Bank.

Chiang Rai Walking Street consists of total 3 zones.

  1. OTOP Zone : If you wish to get some Thai products of the finest quality, then make a little stop at this zone. There are many of them for you to choose, including those from royal projects and ethnic groups.
  2. Handicraft Zone : As Chiang Rai is a historic town, there is no wonder why there are so many interesting, gorgeous types of artworks and handicrafts. You can feast your eyes with them at this zone.
  3. Exhibition And Souvenir Zone : You can notice some exhibitions and buy some unique souvenirs for you love one there.

Chiang Rai Khon Muan Street 

This is even easier. From Thanalai Street, you can just reach Ratchayota Street in no time. Then, just park your car at the block Ratchayota 3 or Wat Pho and continue on your feets to the destination. 

Chiang Rai Walking Street 

Starting from The Old Chiang Rai Transport Station, keep driving on Pahonyothin Street and turn right to the interesection of Pratoo Salee. After that, you will pass Tung Garden and head for Thanalai Street easily.

  • Wat Phra Singh Chiang Rai

Just about 1 kilometre away from Chiang Rai Walking Street, you will see this marvellous temple, which has been being respected for decades. There are many valuable architectures within, including carvings and statues.

  • Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Rai

Wat Phra Kaew in Chiang Rai is quite different from the one in Bangkok. The one in Bangkok is surrounded with large roads and a lot of cars. But the one in Chiang Rai is located in the middle of trees, grass, and lovely natural atmosphere. You will feel totally relaxed and blessed.

This is another important landmark of Chiang Rai. The whole temple is white and sparkling. That is why some foreigh tourists call if ‘The White Temple’. The temple was designed and built by Chalermchai Kositpipat. Just travel fro about 23 minutes and you will arrive at it.
