Here is another Shan temple in Mae Hong Son that you will want to see. It is a small but precious one.

Wat Klang was once an abandoned tenmple. It has been renovated for so many times since 1851. Now, it is decorated in simple way. There aren’t too many decorations. But everything the temple has is beautiful. The atmosphere is beautiful. All Lord Buddha statues are beautiful. The scenery of trees around is absolutely beautfifull.

Of course, the temple is well-known for ‘the great Shan pagoda’, which is in the middle of the temple. This pagoda is another beautiful thing in the temple. Around the pagoda, there are Buddha statues being stored under the shade. You can go and pay respect to.

Wat Klang’s treasure is not its chedi. It is is a little building behing. There you will find a reclining Buddha carved from a block in a tree trunk and above it a sitting Buddha also carved in a massive trunk. Both accompanied by other items carved in wood. It is surprising that most guides forget this little temple, and do not mention its little treasure.
