Wat Phra Buddha Bhat Phrathat Intr Kwaen is located in Muang County, up on a mountain called ‘Doi Tham Hin’. Its history started long time ago, when villagers saw two large rocks on the cliff. They though that the rocks might fall down. Therefore, they tried to push the rocks with wooden sticks. But there was no use. Although many people help each other at the same time, the rocks still maintained the same position. Finally, they all gave up.

However, Kruba Chayawongsapattana told his followers to look for those rocks. After the rocks had been found, a small pointy pagoda (Phra That) was built on the top rock.

Around the rocks, there are also several golden statues. But the interesting part is all about the footprints nearby. These footprints are believed to belong to Lord Buddha.

How to get there 

It will be best if you use the Super Highway named ‘Chiang Mai-Lampang’. You just have to pass Pa Sak Junction, Lamphum Provincial Organization, and PTT Gas Station. Then you will find the intersection of Nong Lom. Just turn left there and keep going along the new path. During your driving, you should see the signs of Phra That Intr Kwaen all the way. That’s right. Just keep going and you will find the entry to to site.
