Pai Canyon is a highlight and must do while in Pai
Pai Canyon the best view on the south of Pai valley + fun hiking experience + amazing for sunset
One of the attractions around Pai is the impressive Pai Canyon, or Kong Lan as it is known in Thai, If you like adventure this is for you. Make sure to bring sturdy footwear as it’s quite uneven in parts definitely worth a visit. A visit to the Pai Canyon is worth your time as it is an outstanding natural attraction with lovely nature walks in its surroundings.
This unique geographical area has been eroded away over many years and is now full of narrow ledges snaking out into the densely forested valley.
The scenery up there is majestically beautiful and the views impressive; you would not expect such a nature behind the hills. The landscape is quite original, the scenic area offers an awesome 360° panorama best enjoyed at sunrise or sunset. Sit on one of the shaded benches or climb up the few steps to a wooden lookout platform, and marvel at the views from these vintage points, which include the ridges of giant strange rock walls nearby, the surrounding mountains and a population of teak trees, shrubbery and other flora. Even if you don’t fancy walking too far into the canyon ridges, the sights from the edge are just as rewarding.
The Pai Canyon is an incredible place to explore! It is a 10 minute walk to the top of the canyon from the car park and from there you can venture off to many different tracks!
Terrified of Heights but you can do it!
A walk through Pai Canyon will give you a little thrill and it is not for the faint-hearted. You can freely climb exciting rocks, and venture as far afield into the canyon as you dare, but at your own risk. There are narrow elevated paths on either side so be careful where you tread, as they can be quite dangerous. There is nothing in the way of safety bars when the trails get narrow, and just one missed step and you fall down in a deep valley. Expect to spend at least a couple of hours hiking around the trails.
I definitely recommend good shoes and water because some tracks are very physical, some may be difficult for children as well. Great spot for photos. It is so fun looking around the entire canyon and I highly recommend it!
Pai canyon is in south pai and has nice panoramic view. You can enjoy the view from here, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, venture beyond and walk along the narrow paths.
Would not recommend for anyone with a fear of heights, for small children, or anyone without appropriate footwear. Or on a rainy day.

Tha Pai hot spring or Pong Nam Ron Tha Pai, is a collection of springs and scorching ponds set near the entrance to Huay Nam Dang National Park. Through it flows a scenic stream, which mixes with the hot springs in places to make pleasant bathing areas. The water is also diverted to a couple of nearby spas.
