Attractions in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is a tourism town. Therefore you don’t have to worry about not finding good tourist attractions. On the contrary, you should get yourself ready to be exhausted, because there are many interesting tourist attractions in Chiang Mai. In fact, the word ‘many’ may sounds too ordinary. To be precise, the word ‘countless’ should do better. That’s right. There are ‘countless’ interesting tourist attractions in Chiang Mai, so much that you may not be able to explore them all.

For those attractions in Chiang Mai, there are various kinds of them. Most of them relates to traditional lifestyles of people in the past, of course. For an instance, if you want to make merit of pay your respect to a principle Buddha’s statue, you may go to a temple. Temples are actually ones of the landmarks of Chiang Mai. There are many beautiful and famous ones, for instances, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Phra That Sri Jom Thong. Most tourists hate to miss them. So, be sure that you don’t miss them too. These are historic and valuable places.

Or, if you want to learn about the history of Chiang Mai, that’s fine. There are still many museums for you. You can see antique things and old-styed architectures and know how people lived hundreds years ago.

Beside of old traditional attractions, there are natural and leisure attractions too, for instances, some small village of ethnic groups. These villages are usually hidden in mountains and very peaceful. They’re inhabited by different kinds of ethnic groups: Mhong People, Shan People, Karen People etc. Although these villages are residential area, but they’re also tourist attractions. Tourists are able to go in for sightseeing, shopping traditional souvenir, or befriending villagers.

Also, there are a lot of farms around Chiang Mai, if you want to see how farmers grow their plants. Just go and notice their procedures. The examples for this are stair farms in Mae-Jam. These farms, following their names, consist of different levels of grounds, which makes them look like a stairway. Beside of rice, there are other different kinds of plants in these farms, for instances, strawberries, teas etc. 

In case you love animals, you can go to a zoo. Beside of the famous Chiang Mai Zoo, there are still many other zoos around Chiang Mai, for instances, the Insect Zoo, Chiang Mai Night Safari, elephant camps etc. You can go any of them to admire lovely animals and take their fabulous photos.
