Khun Sathan National Park ‘See the romantic sunset’

Let us introduce you ‘Khun Sathan National Park’ of Nan Province, Thailand, where you can see beautiful mountains and the romantic sunset with your love one.
The Story of Khun Sathan National Park
In 1998, Royal Forest Department was informed by National Park Centre in Nan, saying that there were plentiful areas of Huai Mae Kaning Forest, Nam Sa Forest, Sakorn Forest, and the right-side forest of the southern Nan River. These were worthy of being turned into a national park. After that, officers started to explore those areas and developed the environments around until everything was ready.
Finally, there came a new national park named ‘Khun Sathan National Park’.
Woodlands and Animals
There are 5 differnet types of woodlands at the national park.
- Montane Forest, which will be found along mountain ridges that are about 1,000 metres high. Take Doi Khun Huai Ya Tai and Doi Khun Hua Hok as examples.
- Mixed Forest, which is the most common one. It can be found at most areas that are 250-1,000 metres high.
- Pine Forest, which can be found on mountaintops that are about 1,300 metres higher than the sea level. Take Doi Chuang Prasat a d Doi Phrae Muang as examples.
- Deciduous Dipterocarp Forest, which can be found one mountain ridges that are about 700-1,000 metres high.
- Semi-Evergreen Forest, which can be found in regular areas, but not large areas.
There are also lots of animals there. They’re mostly in middle sizes and small sizes, like fishes, deers, birds, tigers, monkeys.
Landscape
There are mostly high mountains. The highest one is Doi Phu Ka. The first shorter one is Doi Khu Sathan, about 1,634 metres. The second shorter one is Doi Mae Chok, about 1,469 metres. The third shorter one is Doi Chuang Prasat, about 1,193 metres.
Suggested Activities
If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife, you will want to arrange a romantic vacation at this national park. Setting a camp together by your own tent or booking a shelter. But we suggest you to set up a tent, as it will get you closer to nature and your trip will be extremely romantic.
Try to sleep and wake up early everyday, in order to see the sunrise and the fog at Doi Mae Chok in the morning. For the evening, you may just sit and eat in front of your tent while watching the sunset together.

During your camping, you may find some games to play with your love one, probably a leisure sport like badminton, catch ball, rope jumping etc. Don’t just stay in your tent and play your smartphone, tablet, or computer all the time. That will be a waste of time. Just use those equipments when there are necessary matters only. Remember, you’re at the national park to have a camp, not to move your place to sleep.
How to get there
Khun Sathan national park takes place in Na Muen County and Na Noi County. To get there, there are two ways.
1.) Look for the Highway 101 (Yantrakijkosol Road) and continue straight. You should reach Huai Kad Village within 50 kilometres. Then turn right and switch to the Highway 1216. Finally, continue straight for about 26 kilometres and you will reach the destination soon.
2.) Look for the Highway 101 again. The difference is, just head for Wiang Sa County. Then turn right and switch to Chao Fah Road. Then drive for about 35 kilometres and reach Na Noi County. After that, just turn right to the Highway 1216. Continue straight for about 31 kilometres, you will reach the national park.
