If you’re looking for a nice shopping district in Pai County, but you don’t know how to decide, then you probably want to try ‘Pai Walking Street’
If you have been to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai before, you can possibly imagine what Pai Walking Street looks like. Yes. Pai Walking Street is a shopping district, just like Chiang Rai Walking Street in Chiang Rai or Nimman Walking Street in Chiang Mai. You will find many types of goods for sale. The only difference is, Pai Walking Street is quite smaller.
Small area is not a problem after all. The district is lovely, joyful, and heart-warming. Pai Walking Street was first started from mini booths. But now there are quite many bigger booths and shops. You can feel free to walk around and purchase clothes, sculptures, ornaments, foods, and lots more.
For foods, there are many interesting types of dishes, for examples, white sheet rice, noodle, Krob Kem, donut, Kyoza, grilled meat.
For clothes and souvenirs, there are T-shirts, badges, key rings, pens, pencils, wallets, dolls, etc. Some T-shirts also have the word ‘Pai’ on. You can grab one, just to remind you in the future that you have already been to Pai County for once.
Not only that, there are also handmade ornaments like bracelets and necklaces. Girls and women are gonna love these. Or even a toy like spinning top is also for sale.

How to get there
Pai Walking Street takes place at Chai Songkram Road, Wiang Tai District, Pai County, Mae Hong Son Province.
To get there, you are not suggested to travel by a personal car. Remember, this is a walking street. That means, when it comes to the service hour, the street will be closed for all sellers to set up their booths. Therefore all vehicles are not allowed to pass.
You better get a bus and be dropped off at Pai Transport Station. Then just walk on your feet and turn right. After you find the junction with Government Savings Bank, just turn left to your destination.

This is only about 17 metres away. Wat Klang is a temple where you should go and see a big Shan pagoda covered in sparkling golden color. Or you can pay respect to all Lord Buddha statues for your own good fortune.
This is a Yunnan village. By the word ‘Yunnan’, it is a group of Chinese people. This village represents you some parts of art and culture of Yunnan. There are the architectures of Chinese walls and houses, Chinese food, and Chinese souvenirs.
