The story of the place started in the year 1978, when King Bhumibhol, the 9th king of Thailand, visited his people at Phra Bhat Huai Tom Comunity there. He saw that the village was in trouble, with inadequate rice to eat, lack of land to set up careers, villagers became sick etc. Therefore, the king started to take the community into the care of Royal Project Foundation. That’s where Phra Bhat Huai Tom Royal Project Development Centre has been set up.
