You may wonder why the temple does have the word ‘tak pha’ in its name. In English, the word means ‘fabric drying’. Huh? What does the temple have to do with fabric drying?
Well, the legend says, centuries ago, Lord Buddha went on a trip to bless teachable creatures in Suvarnabhumi. When the Lord arrived at Wat Phra Buddha Bhat Tak Pha, he make footprints of his own within the area, in order that they will be worshiped by both gods and humans. Beside, the Lord also told Ananda to dry his robe(**The yellow/orange fabric that monks always wear.) on Pha Lad. Therefore, the temple has been called ‘Wat Phra Buddha Bat Tak Pha’ until nowadays.
