Wat Phrathat Chom Kitti, also known as Wat Phrathat Chom Ma Kitti was built in the year 1713, with about 11,200 square metres area. It is another temple that stores Lord Buddha’s relics inside a Lanna pagoda. The pagoda is covered in clean white color and located on a square-shaped base. You should see that for once. Or, if you have enough time, just go and pay respect for your own good fortune. It is believe that the temple has a power of protection. It has protected villagers of the town for centuries.
Wat Phrathat Chom Kitti can be found in the middle of mountains. The scenery is beautiful more than anything else. Those big and small mountains stand near each other, creating descending paths. Below the mountains, there are water resources and villages. You can see these from a great distance.
How to get there
Wat Phrathat Chom Kitti is located at Ban Chom Kitti, Area 13, Mae Yuam District, Mae Hong Son Province. That is only about 2 kilometres away from Mae Sariang County.
To get there, you should start from the bridge that goes over Yuam River. Keep going straight before turning left into the Highway No.1194. Then continue straight again. You should pass the entrance of Wat Nam Dib. Then, after driving for another 500 metres, you should find your way into Wat Phra That Chom Kitti. From this point, be extra careful. The road is quite rough and steep. You don’t want to go too fast until your car lose its control and cause you an accident.

Ths best part of the temple is a great statue of Luang Pho Tom. This can be found on mountaintop and is considered to be the biggest Lord Buddha statue in Thailand. Paying respect to the statue can make your mind be at peace and bring good fortune into your life.
