Wat Phrathat Chom Tong ‘Another temples with from the group of Chom’
This is another temple from the group of the word ‘Chom’. There are Wat Phrathat Chom Chaeng, Wat Phrathat Chom Mon, Wat Phrathat Chom Kitti, and now, Wat Phrathat Chom Tong.
Wat Phrathat Chom Tong, or Wat Chom Tong, is located in Mae Sariang County, Mae Hong Son Province. It is well known for storing a part of Lord Buddha’s relics, which villagers love to come around and pay respect. If is another holy and respectable religious place of the town.
Beside, there is also a Lord Buddha statue of Luang Pho To, which is 15 metres tall and made of brick and lime, located on the top of the mountain. It was built in the year 1989. You can consider this as the biggest Lord Buddha statue in the town.
Not only that, you can also admire other glorious architecture, for examples, white pagodas, pointy-roofed gate, statues of Nagas at handrails. Or you can just walk around to rela yourself, have a sightseeing of Mae Sariang and green mountains from a great distance, and take photos. But be careful when you take out your camera, as photography may be inappropriate in some areas.
How to get there
Wat Phrathat Chom Tong is on the east side of Mae Sariang County, or only about 1 kilometre away. You just need to head for the heart of Mae Sariang. Try to notice the Museum of Mae Sariang near the Highway No.108. You should find a junction with one path to Mae Sariang and another path to Wat Phrathat Chom Tong. Just follow the direction to Wat Phra That Chom Tong.

Wat Phrathat Chom Chaeng is so stunning in Lanna style. You can see this through the pagodas, the vihara, the ubosot, and so on. There are sculptures all over. Locating east of Mae Sariang, close to the entrance of Mae Sariang district and Mae Saring museum, this is the nearest temple to visit from Mae Sariang.

This museum is decorated in Shan style. It looks very glorious and stunning. The roof is descending and covered in silver color. Inside the museum, you will find exhibitions that reflect the lifestyles of villagers in Mae Sariang. These people mostly make their livings of growing rice and some other plants.
