Lied-down Lord Buddha statues are very stunning. There are several temples in Thailand that store these. One of these temple is ‘Wat Pong Sunan’ in Phrae Province.
It’s a place that you want to go with your love one one your special day, due to the relaxing atmosphere and long-time history.
Wat Pong Sunan, former name ‘Wat Pong Sanuk’, was abandonded before being renovated in 1929 by Luang Pongpibul and Lady Sunanta. The name ‘Pong Sunan’ is the synthesis between the names of these people. That’s how it comes.
Get your camera ready and take photos of the temple. The lied-down Lord Buddha statue isn’t the only architecture in the temple, but there are still lots more. You may want to pay respect to all these and make a wish for yourself and your love one.
The ubosot of this temple is also interesting, as it stores Phra Chao San Suk, a Marnwichai-mannered Lord Buddha statue. Do you believe that the statue is hundreds years old?
Don’t forget to snap some shot of the white vihara. It’s all white. Very beautiful !!
There are also Lord Buddha’s relics in the main pagoda of the temple. The relics were from India. That’s extraordinary.
At last, you and your love one will want to put the foreheads on the forefinger of Phra Chao Tan Chai. Phra Chao Tan Chai is a Lord Buddha statue standing on a white vihara. It’s believed that, by doing so, your wish will come true.
