Doi Wiang Pha National Park ‘You will fall in love with this heaven-like national park’
There are many national parks in Chiang Mai. All of them are beautiful as heaven. They are perfect places for everyone who wish to relax their minds. They are surrounded with trees, streams, grass, and mountains.
Doi Wiang Pha National Park is one of these. It is a national park located in Chaiprakan District of Chiang Mai. The whole area is about 356 square kilometres. It is also look like a community, in fact. There are waterfalls, open-air houses, gardens, and lots more.
Doi Wiang Pha National Park mostly consists of mountains. It is located between Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. The highest peek is Doi Wiang Pha, same as the name of the national park, with total 1,834-metred height above the medium sea level. Moreover, the national park is the river source of many important rivers, for instances, Fang River, Huai Mae Fang Luang, Huai Mae Fang Noi, Nam Mae Yang Min.
For the geographical information, there are total 3 seasons at Doi Wiang Pha, consisting of rainy season, winter, and summer. The rainy season starts from May to October. However, the hardest time is between August and September. During the time, it rains heavily. Next, the winter starts from November to February. This is probably be the best time to go to Doi Wiang Pha National Park, in case you hate hot weather. Lastly, the summer starts from March to April. The temperature can go up to 36 degree Celcius in this season.
There are also many forest areas around the national park, which you can go on and explore rare plants like Montadoi, white roses, or some species of orchids. Don’t forget to bring a camera with you too. Feel free to look around. But don’t you ever think about picking flowers or damage the plants.
Also, you will see some animals. Monkeys, squirrels, hares, hedgehogs, wild boars, they live happily in this national park, due to flawless and peaceful environment. If you see them, be friendly to them. Don’t tease them, hurt them, or feed them arbitrarily.
For those who wish to feel comfortable by soaking in something cool, waterfalls may sound interesting. There are many waterfalls around the area. The suggested one is Huai Sai Kao Waterfall ,which is located next to the national park office. It is a small, but beautiful waterfall. You can go in the water and play as you want.
How to get there
Doi Wiang Pha National Park is located in Chaiprakan district of Chiang Mai, as you’ve been informed.
There are two different ways to travel there. The first way is to drive a car. Just start your trip in Chiang Mai Province. Then drive along the Highway No.107, heading for Chaiprakan County. When you reach the 125th kilometre, turn right and keep going for another 12 kilometres. Finally, you will find the office of Doi Wiang Pha National Park.
